- The beautiful medieval town
of Yvoire
- Annecy with its shops, waterside restaurants and
boating
- Megeve, the Paris of the Alps with the Mont Blanc
tramway
- Chamonix with the mountain train to Montenvers,
where there is a lovely restaurant at the cable
car to the Aguile du midi
- to name but a few.
Lots of local villages to explore with traditional shops,
markets and restaurants.

Le Lac Bleu recreational park has a man-made
lake with its own beach (lifeguard during summer holidays),
Ideal for swimming, paddling etc. petanque area, lovely
wooded picnic area, volley ball, riding, quad biking and
terrace bar/restaurant. |

Next to Le Lac Bleu is the Indiana Adventure Park,
where children and adults can spend hours climbing and swinging
through the trees with zip lines, nets etc. |

The park in Samoens (a short drive away) is outstanding,
with 2 large lakes for fishing/swimming & an outdoor
swimming pool. Massive children's play area, archery, tennis,
table tennis, volleyball etc. Masses of cycle paths and
wooded picnic areas. Water driving range and 9 hole putting
green (summer only). Free parking. |

Wonderful mountain lakes and waterfalls (brilliant for
playing in) are all easily accessible and everywhere seems
to have free parking. |

For keen riders there are many treks available along
the river Griffe or through the mountains |

Lots of angling opportunities available in mountain streams,
rivers and lakes. Call in at tourist information first
though to get your pass. |

Parapenting is extremely popular, go tandem with an instructor
or learn to go alone |

Many telecabines and chair lifts are open during the
summer along with some of the mountain restaurants, bars
etc. Some of the lifts are adapted to carry mountain bikes
- just ride back down |

Bike hire is widely available. There are 600km of mountain
bike tracks across The Grand Massif and 900km of walking
tracks.

Water activities are numerous, children over 8 can go
white water rafting! |

For golfers the Haute Savoie is fantastic, providing
some of the finest courses in Europe but with stunning
views, cheaper green fees and quieter fairways.
